Tech Nation 2018 Survey Results, Cornwall Campaign & Celebration
Following the great response from areas of Cornwall in the UK Tech Nation 2018 survey, Redruth & Truro are to be featured again for a third year as one of the UKs top Tech Clusters in the Tech Nation Report being released in May.
The cluster was in the top 5 of clusters to respond to the survey with 116 responses from the Truro & Redruth cluster alone. Other clusters in Cornwall saw an increase in responses with 206 from across the county; Falmouth: 36, St Austell and Newquay: 27, Liskeard: 15, Wadebridge: 4, Penzance: 8
Last year Truro and Redruth were featured as the 3rd fastest growing cluster in terms of employment and recruitment growth, and in 2016 it was featured as the 2nd fastest business growth cluster with 127% growth in GVA (Gross Value Added).
The Software Cornwall team are currently busy collecting case studies and highlights of the past year for inclusion in this years report. Results of the survey and cluster growth statistics will be revealed when the report is published in May.
Cornwall Tech Nation 2018 Campaign
Software Cornwall will be leading a campaign to highlight Cornwall’s feature in this years report during May.
The campaign featuring members of the tech community, stories, case studies and news will be run in-line with the release of the report to help raise the awareness and visibility of Truro & Redruth and Cornwall’s wider tech community.
Members will work collectively to plan, create and deliver the campaign, and the project has received sponsorship from LEP CIOS to help fund costs. The team are speaking to other potential sponsors of the campaign so that it can be scaled further.

Cornwall Tech Nation Connect Event in May
The next Software Cornwall Tech Connect event will run in May so everyone can get together to celebrate Truro & Redruth achieving their hat trick, celebrate the successes of the last year across the county, and look forward to continued growth in success and community spirit of Cornwall’s Tech sector.
