Exciting technology from Cornish company gives freedom and independence to patients on anticoagulation therapy

Camborne-based LumiraDx Care Solutions, UK, a leading digital health innovation company based in Cornwall, has launched engage, a ground-breaking new self-testing solution for people taking warfarin.

engage allows individuals on long-term anticoagulation medication to lead a more independent life, with fewer visits to clinics and the ability to test their INR at a time and place that suits them whilst still under the supervision and guidance of the care team.

The technology behind engage has been developed by the team at LumiraDx Care Solutions who are anticoagulation experts with over 20 years’ of experience delivering safe, efficient support software to the NHS in the form of INRstar, the market-leading anticoagulation management software.

The engage platform has been developed to provide a safe, easy-to-use, seamless supported self-testing option for individuals available on smartphone, tablet and web via the engage app. engage enables people to self-test their INR at a convenient time and place and send these results automatically to their care team. A dosing schedule is checked by the clinician and relayed back to the individual via engage.

In addition to this seamless integration, engage gives individuals the knowledge, skills and confidence to feel more in control of their health and well-being through a series of tutorials and videos including Understanding Your INR and Performing your INR test. Using engage also gives access to an experienced support team who are on hand to discuss how engage works and to help with any technical questions.

engage has already been successfully piloted in Cornwall and across the UK and has received positive feedback from a number of individuals.
