New FDENG Software Engineering Degree

With Software engineering currently being one of the most in demand skills in the UK. Software Cornwall are very pleased to have collaborated with Truro and Penwith College to bring a new foundation degree to Cornwall. The first time for the county that students can access the 2 year foundation course in Software Engineering.

This program is based on an innovative and dynamic curriculum, designed and delivered in collaboration with key employers. Students will cover a range of computing, programming, and software engineering concepts throughout the course. The course is vocationally based with lots of practical hands-on tuition and links to relevant local industry employers.

The course will cover the fundamental aspects of programming and software engineering as well as software development industry practices. Alongside practical programming modules, students will gain a wider understanding of key industry concepts, such as project management, software development practices and methodologies, data analytics, management and big data, computational thinking, systems architecture and software testing. 

The FdEng Software Engineering will prepare students for a career in the software development industry, the course has a mix of practical and vocational skills along with linking basic theoretical concepts to practice and is ideal for individuals who are embarking in this exciting field.
