Buzz sponsors charity award for Inclusive Surf School of the Year at The Wave Project event. - Tech Cornwall

As a result of our success in winning at the South West Digital Awards back in September, Buzz were delighted to be asked to be one of the sponsors of the Wave Project Awards night held at The Headland Hotel on Saturday 24 November. The Wave Project charity provides surf therapy for young people in various locations up and down the country and has it’s HQ here in Newquay, making it an ideal organisation for us to lend our support to.

The ceremony was compered by Sophie Everard who did a brilliant job in making all the nominees and winners feel at ease and Lindsey Axten (Buzz Co-Founder) had the pleasure of presenting the award for Most Inclusive Surf School of the Year to St Ives Surf School, who were up against stiff competition for the honour.

One of the highlights of an evening already filled with celebrating the achievements of the inspirational young people, was Victoria Pendleton (Olympian) accepting the request by Wave Project’s CEO Joe Taylor to be the charity’s patron, which was very warmly received by everyone in the room. Victoria went on to present the Courage Award to Elsy Williams who couldn’t have been happier!

A thoroughly enjoyable night, for a wonderful cause helping amazing people, right on our door step and nothing to do with tech for once!
