Cornwall-born talent strengthens growing aviation software firm, Quantavia

Quantavia, a Cornwall-based aviation software specialist, has expanded its team with the appointment of Emily King as its new Head of Operations. With over 12 years of experience in enterprise technology, King’s arrival marks a significant milestone for the company, which now boasts a six-strong team committed to revolutionising aviation management software.

Founded by former Air Ambulance pilot Craig Webster in 2019, Quantavia has a global client base within the aviation sector, serving clients across a variety of sectors.

King, who grew up in Cornwall and attended Richard Lander School, reunites with former classmate Chris Hassall, Quantavia’s Commercial Director, in a move that highlights the company’s dedication to local talent.

“I’m ecstatic to be joining Quantavia at such an exciting time,” said Emily King. “Being able to contribute to a cutting-edge software company in my home county is incredibly rewarding. Craig, Chris and the rest of the team have built something special here, and I’m eager to help drive the business forward.”

Quantavia is best known for its flagship product, HeliCrewManager, a smart aviation workforce management system designed to streamline scheduling, compliance, and operational efficiency. HeliCrewManager has been serving aviation operators since 2019. With an emphasis on intuitive design and automation, the company is developing solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the aviation industry and is developing the next generation of aviation software with FlightCrewManager.

Chris Hassall, Commercial Director at Quantavia, commented that:

“Emily is a fantastic addition to the team. Her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to expand. It’s also a great story of local people working together to build something meaningful in Cornwall, and we’re proud to be creating high-quality jobs in the region.”

Founder Craig Webster echoed this sentiment:

“When I started Quantavia, my goal was to build a business with real staying power. Something that could make a genuine impact in the aviation industry while supporting skilled professionals here in Cornwall. Emily’s appointment strengthens our leadership team and sets us up for the next phase of growth.”

Quantavia’s expansion comes as the company begins work on a new project to bring its time and risk management application to Fatigue Risk Management in aerospace engineering. Working with DM Aviation Consulting (DMAC), the partnership aims to address safety and efficiency issues within aircraft maintenance. In 2024, a HeliOffshore survey of engineers, found that 38% reported that they or colleagues had experienced fatigue, which had led to a safety incident or near miss in the past three months.
