Cornish-based start-ups up for awards

Two start-ups supported by Falmouth University’s venture studio, Launchpad, have been shortlisted for this year’s South West England Startup Awards.

Web-based easy parking payment solution, Find Park Pay, is up for the Mobile & Emerging Technologies StartUp of the year.

Founder Tim Macknelly said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for this award; it validates that we’re moving in the right direction. We’re committed to creating the best user experience we can for the parking industry and are now working with industry leaders to make the dream of simplifying parking payment a reality.”

Chloe Lingard, founder of voluntourism company TSAP Travel is shortlisted in the Social Enterprise StartUp category.

Chloe said: “It’s great to be nominated as a finalist, especially as a social enterprise. Having only launched our pilot project last year, it’s a credit to the TSAP Travel team and changemakers, who worked incredibly hard to support communities in Madagascar. We are continuing to ensure brighter futures for all through our work in the southwest of England and beyond.”

The South West England StartUp Awards recognise the achievements of individuals who have had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service. The awards will take place at a Bristol venue in June.
