We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic embedded software engineer to join our close-knit software team of four. You will work closely with Engineering and Operations colleagues to design, develop and expand our cutting-edge marine power generation and hybrid propulsion products.

The position is available for immediate start and offers very attractive compensation, benefits and relocation package (if required) for the right candidate. 

What you will do

  • Develop and expand the software that powers our award-winning systems, delivering clean energy generation and hybrid propulsion.
  • Innovate core product functionality and performance for real-world marine applications.
  • Collaborate with the verification team to ensure exceptional  product reliability and safety.
  • Work directly with the customer advocacy team to resolve field issues and continuously improve our solutions.
  • Contribute ideas in a dynamic, small-team environment where your work shapes next-generation marine technology.

What you bring

  • A recognized university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of professional experience as an embedded/systems development engineer (strong final year projects, internships, or open-source contributions will be considered for exceptionally passionate candidates with slightly less formal experience).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in embedded C and Python.
  • Practical experience with source control and issue tracking tools (git, Jira or similar).
  • A genuine passion for creating high-quality, reliable products and a strong eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and platforms.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • Exposure to energy systems, marine electronics, or automotive/industrial protocols (NMEA2000, CAN bus/J1939) is highly advantageous.
  • Interest in hardware/firmware debugging and real-world system integration.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and willingness to develop hands-on marine skills.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-moving, innovative environment.
