Microtest sign contract to supply GP surgeries in NHS Wales - Tech Cornwall

On 3rd April, Microtest signed a contract with NHS Wales Informatics Service.

Under a new contract for future services, NHS Wales has selected Microtest as one of two vendors to supply GP clinical IT systems in the country.

The award followed a rigorous procurement process that allows free and open competition among potential suppliers. Suppliers were asked to demonstrate a strong commitment and the ability to meet NHS Wales’ core clinical and technical requirements and the challenges of the wider Primary Care agenda.

Microtest and INPS Vision are the two suppliers that have achieved ‘Preferred Vendor’ status within the NHS Wales framework.

With its HQ in Bodmin and a development centre in Plymouth Science Park, Microtest has been supplying IT systems and software to GP practices for over 30 years. The company was recently named ‘IT Supplier of the Year 2017-2018’ in the prestigious national General Practice Awards.

Microtest is currently in the process of introducing a new version of its core clinical system, Open Evolution, using the very latest cutting-edge technology, with the aim of making it the most intuitive and future-proof practice management system available in the UK.

MD Chris Netherton says: “We are thrilled to have signed the contract with NHS Wales Informatics Service, which is a significant milestone for the company. We look forward to working with GP surgeries across Wales, helping practices to provide excellent patient care.”
