Camborne-based LumiraDx Care Solutions has received a Gold award recognising their commitment to health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Healthy Workplace Award is run by Cornwall Council and endorsed by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and is a county standard of good practice and a quality mark of health and wellbeing in the workplace. The awards provide an opportunity for participating companies from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to come together, receive their awards from Dame Carol Black and share and learn from each other.
This is the fourth year LumiraDx Care Solutions has participated in the awards and the second time they have been awarded Gold status. To achieve this, LumiraDx Care Solutions had to complete and pass 10 core criteria which included topics such as; Creating a Healthy Workplace, Health and Safety, Mental Wellbeing, and Recruitment and Retention.

LumiraDx Care Solutions aims to improve on and introduce new health and wellbeing initiatives each year with a clear commitment from the Senior Management team to promote both emotional and physical health throughout the organisation. The company was recognised for its recent focus on mental health and wellbeing, with initiatives led by the People Development Team including; the training of five Mental Health First-Aiders, mindfulness training, a new chill-out area for relaxation and the celebration of national awareness days such as World Mental Health Day and Time to Talk Day which was held on 7 February 2019 to help initiate conversations and raise awareness of mental health in the workplace.
Mental health is just one of the areas of focus for LumiraDx Care Solutions, with a dedicated wellbeing hub including initiatives such as mindfulness training, a new chill-out area, healthy weight programmes and advice with more support for employees being put into place throughout the year.
