The South West is a region buzzing with innovation, startups and talent but is too often overlooked in favour of London and other large areas.
With that in mind, Helm2 are introducing the South West Digital Awards.
From Bristol-based companies selling their products internationally to young developers working out of their bedroom in Cornwall, the awards will be a chance to highlight, reward and encourage digital innovation in the region.
The event will take place in Plymouth, the centre of the region, on 17th May 2018. Plymouth is the perfect location for the awards, acting as a middle ground between the bustling cities of Bristol & Exeter, the coastal towns of Bournemouth & Poole and the country’s farthest hubs of Truro & Redruth.
Unlike any awards before, the evening will be a massive celebration of the South West with interactive exhibits, a live panel and more. Throughout the night, their Play Zone will be packed with the South West’s best interactive tech. From apps to hardware, guests can experience what’s being developed across the South West, whilst the exhibitors have the opportunity to show us what they’re made of.

Each year, there are hundreds of award ceremonies. From those that are industry-specific to those focusing on locations, age groups or anything else that can be pinned down. So, why enter the South West Digital Awards this January?
Awards with a Difference
For starters, the South West Digital Awards are different. We won’t be succumbing to the tropes of industry award ceremonies, like keynote speakers trying to sell you something, the same faces in every category or sponsors conveniently winning awards.
We want everyone working in digital in the South West to branch out and collaborate. Use the awards as an opportunity to meet your industry peers, from investors and employers to bright young things and innovators, the evening will be full of opportunities to meet people from across the South West’s digital landscape. Free tickets for finalists
The awards evening itself will be a celebration of all things digital and South West. Alongside a delicious feast of locally-sourced, hearty food and a selection of local drinks, we’ll also be having an interactive live panel. With the panel, the PlayZone and the suprises we have in store, the awards are going to be one of the biggest events of the year.
All shortlisted finalists will receive a complimentary ticket to the awards. So if you’ve already entered but would like to secure your seat, we’ll refund your ticket if you’re a finalist!
