Cornish health Technology Company goes from strength to strength

As a Camborne-based dynamic IT company, we are leading innovation for Cornwall with our healthcare products which are now being used in over 2,700 NHS locations across the UK. Our anticoagulation software helps clinicians manage patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) – a very common long term heart condition. In October, our software was recognised when SCSLhealth won (with Leicester City CCG) a prestigious national healthcare IT award (EHI Award).¹

We have recently expanded and formed a ‘Discovery Team’ within the business, whose specific purpose is to work more closely with patients and clinicians to co-design innovative, new patient-led health solutions.

The vision and passion behind SCSLhealth is to improve outcomes and choice for patients living with long term conditions.

Dr Mark Sullivan, Medical Director and Founder of our business says:

“Our anticoagulation software has been used by clinicians for the last 20 years to manage patients on warfarin more safely. Recently we have begun working more directly with patients to understand how we can change attitudes to the challenges of living with other long term conditions, such as diabetes, so that patients feel more supported, understood and in control.

We feel that technology has a huge role to play in the future of the NHS and particularly in improving patient choice to Self-Manage. Many patients are already doing this but without the right tools and support – this is where we are passionate about making a difference to their lives.“

As Cornwall has a relatively high prevalence of long term conditions, we are committed to working with local healthcare professionals and providers to find pioneering solutions to improve patient outcomes and choice as well as improving efficiency for the NHS.

The next chapter of SCSLhealth signifies good things for the Cornish economy, as our staff numbers have grown almost 100% over the last 18 months to 43 employees based in Camborne.
