Cornish health Technology Company achieves Healthy Workplace Award - Tech Cornwall

Camborne-based SCSLhealth, a dynamic IT company leading digital health innovation in Cornwall, has achieved the Bronze Healthy Workplace Award. Founded in Cornwall, the Healthy Workplace Award (www.behealthyatwork.org/healthy-workplace-award/) encourages companies to promote healthy living at work. SCSLhealth has been recognised for a number of healthy initiatives that have been introduced for staff, including free fruit, time off to donate blood, lifestyle coaching, group dog walking and gym membership, among other initiatives to help promote a more healthy and happy working environment.

The company put staff wellbeing at the heart of its strategic objectives and understands the importance of health in relation to happiness, productivity and engagement.

Clare Gardner, People Development Manager says: “We are delighted with our award! We believe passionately that staff motivation and input is directly related to physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace. We want our employees to feel valued and looked after so that they enjoy coming to work; not only to do their jobs but to enjoy a stimulating and healthy environment where their wellbeing is more important than the bottom line…. this is a completely sound investment for us because the return in productivity levels and engagement is evident. Simple things such as promoting regular breaks, social activities and healthy eating are no-brainers for reducing stress and upping our ‘happiness factor.’”

Rachel Faulkner, Workplace Health Coordinator at Health Promotion Service says: ‘It is very clear how important the culture is at SCSLhealth and that ‘People’ are recognised as a key priority for the organisation.  There is a clear commitment to look after staff and develop a healthy and happy workforce with the aim of retaining and attracting the best staff.  An excellent start to the Healthy Workplace Programme with great foundations being built with many plans in place to embed and ensure a strong and positive culture at SCSLhealth, well done on achieving the Bronze Healthy Workplace Award!”

SCSLhealth’s products are now being used in over 2,700 NHS locations across the UK. Its anticoagulation software helps clinicians manage patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) – a very common long-term heart condition. In October, the company’s software was recognised when SCSLhealth won (with Leicester City CCG) a prestigious national healthcare IT award (EHI Award).

INRstar is the UK’s leading anticoagulation decision support software, specifically developed to help health professionals safely manage anticoagulation patients.
