Cornish coding students gain valuable insight into leading healthcare technology - Tech Cornwall

LumiraDx Care Solutions in Camborne opened its doors to 20 computing and software students from Plymouth University on Monday 9 October 2017.

The open day, run in association with Software Cornwall, gave the students exclusive access to agile working methodologies in software engineering as well as a sneak preview of new technology the business is developing to redefine how patients and clinicians connect.

‘’The Software Cornwall open day, in partnership with Plymouth University, aimed to connect students with the thriving tech scene right here in Cornwall. By showcasing the innovative, industry leading work happening in the region it is hoped students will see that there is no need to head towards the big cities for a prosperous career. With Cornwall ranked as the third fastest growing tech hub in the U.K., retaining graduates is key to sustaining that growth in the long term.’’
Tony Edwards, Education Outreach, Software Cornwall

This is a great opportunity for local students to get to know local businesses and find out about the great career opportunities here in Cornwall. Students got the chance to see tech careers in action, meet people already doing their dream job, and ask questions about future opportunities for them personally. Getting a view of the brilliant cutting-edge eHealth software being created by the teams at LumiraDx was a real treat!’’
Belinda Waldock, Director, Software Cornwall
