LumiraDx Care Solutions’ engage app was “Highly Commended” in the Best Healthcare App category at this year’s Building Better Healthcare Awards. The award winners were announced at an awards lunch on 1 November at The Brewery in London.
The Building Better Healthcare Awards is in its 19th year. This annual prestigious event celebrates the innovation, architecture, people, products and services that are helping to transform patient care. The Best Healthcare App award recognises a digital application accessible from smart devices, which is helping to enhance health and wellbeing or bring about efficiencies.
engage is a pioneering app which delivers seamlessly connected self-care for people on anticoagulation therapy (both warfarin and other direct orals anticoagulants (DOACs). engage gives individuals the knowledge, skills and confidence to take more control of their health, whilst staying connected to their care team. Warfarin patients can enrol on the warfarin self-testing programme and further care programmes for digital review will soon be available to DOACs patients as well as a digital dosing service for non-self-testing warfarin patients.
The warfarin self-testing care programme allows patients to self-test their international normalised ratio (INR) at a convenient time and place and send their result automatically to their clinician who then reviews the result, generates a tablet schedule and sends it back to the individual.
