Tech Explorers takes youngsters through a directed path in physical computing using the Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi Pico. It will cover setting a Raspberry Pi up, writing software code on the Pi and Pico. Also building a small rover and controlling it with the Pico. The students will handle a number of different ways to physically use computing skills with motors, LED and some more. Two mornings from 9 o’clock until 12 o’clock.

Designed for curious minds aged 10 to 14, this condensed 6-hour program invites 20 students to embark on an educational adventure using Raspberry Pi as their guide. Intensive Curriculum Highlights:

• 2 Mornings of Interactive Learning: Three-hour sessions each morning, packed with engaging discussions and hands-on projects.
• From Basics to Build: Start with setting up a Raspberry Pi and progress to constructing your own simple rover.

Session Breakdown:

Morning 1:
1. Introduction to Raspberry Pi: Discover what a Raspberry Pi can do and kickstart your journey with a ‘Hello World’ project in Scratch3 & Python.
2. Basic Electronics: Delve into circuits and control them with Scratch3 & Python, using breadboards and LEDs.

Morning 2:

3. Python Programming: Unravel the basics of Python.
4. Advanced Python: Dive deeper into Python with various IDEs and interactive projects.
5. Integrating Sensors: Explore sensors and data collection, and code using specialized libraries.
6. Building a Rover: Combine all your skills to build a simple, functioning rover.
