Scope For Improvement

Tuesday 26 04 2022 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Plymouth Materials Characterisation Network will be with ATI2 to offer businesses the opportunity to have their products analysed by experts

Delivered by ATI2, ‘Scope For Improvement ’ is a fully-funded event.

We are delighted to welcome the Plymouth Materials Characterisation Network (PMCN) to our Truro Pop-Up Innovation Centre for Scope For Improvement 26 April. Bring in your own samples to be analysed by experts using their portable Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) instrument.

Fabrics, metals, coffee beans, pollen and much more have been rigorously analysed by the PMCN team so that businesses can better understand their products on a micro level. From improved quality control to increased efficiency or reduced product failure; the benefits to your business of SEM analysis are varied, in-depth and wide-ranging.

The soon-to-be addition of three new instruments will offer PMCN, and their clients, unparalleled access to leading-edge equipment that is not yet available all under one roof anywhere else in the UK.

Book a 15 minute slot between 11:00-15:00 on 26 April at our Truro Pop-Up Innovation Centre to have a sample scanned and analysed on the day. Up to two people per business can attend for each booking slot, there will be time to network with the ATI2 team and other businesses before and after your timeslot.

Samples must be dry, solid and within 3cm diameter. The images and analysis can be exported on a memory stick or emailed to you later.

If you are unable to attend on the day you can send in a sample in advance to our Truro Pop-Up Innovation Centre for the PEMC team to analyse and report their findings back to you later. Please include contact details, preferably email, with your sample so the team can send this to you.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), ATI2 is 3-year £3.4 million project led by the University of Plymouth which supports business innovation across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
