Software Cornwall event: How to develop a good culture for your tech company
A 90-minute online workshop featuring key insights from best practices, with follow-on resources for you to take back to your tech company.

About this event

We’re delighted to introduce this online workshop exclusively for Software Cornwall members on developing a good company culture for your tech company.

According to a study by global jobs website Glassdoor, workers value a strong company culture over higher pay.

Glassdoor’s Mission & Culture Survey 2019 found that over 77% of adults across four countries (the UK, United States, France, Germany) would consider a company’s culture before applying for a job there, and 79% would consider a company’s mission and purpose before applying. Furthermore, over half of the 5000 respondents said that company culture is more important than salary when it comes to job satisfaction.”

The best employers understand why all of their employees should feel welcome, respected and represented at work. They know that inclusion drives better individual, business and organisational outcomes. And they believe that staff must be able to bring their whole selves to work.

This session will help identify the features of an inclusive workplace and some of the strategies and resources to help you attract and retain great staff.

You’ll learn about:

  • The characteristics of a positive workplace
  • The principles of inclusive leadership
  • Why inclusion and diversity matters
  • The local context – inclusion and diversity in Cornwall
  • Embedding inclusion and diversity in your team
